Super aBsorbent IMBIBER BEADS®.
Imbibitive Technologies is a specialty sorbent manufacturer and environmental solutions provider.
Our proprietary product, IMBIBER BEADS®, meets ASTM International Standards as a super aBsorbent polymer and is the common tie in all of our environmental cleanup and mitigation products.
IMBIBER BEADS® are spherical plastic particles that ‘IMBIBE’, drink–in or aBsorb a very broad cross section of the organic chemical spectrum.
The polymer particles are solid (about the size of a salt or sugar granule). There are no pores or voids to fill (as in a sponge).
Once contact has been made with a compatible liquid, the IMBIBER BEADS® drink the liquid into their solid structure and in so doing, swell. This can be up to 27 volumes per original IMBIBER BEADS® volume with some liquids. See image of swollen beads shown here at right.
The IMBIBER BEADS® will not release liquid, not through compression, gravitational pull, not even when cut in half. The liquid is held in the molecular structure – not in droplets.
Engineered for both land and water based spills, IMBIBER BEADS® aBsorb over 1,000 different organic chemicals.
IMBICATOR® Activation Awareness Technology
Activation Awareness Technology is a visual indicating device that activates IMBIBER BEADS® First Response & Spill Products to change color in the presence of an organic chemical(s).
While unaffected by water, once activated by an organic chemical the packets change from their original pink to a strong red – providing a visual "alert" when the chemicals have been absorbed.
Land and water spills can efficiently be contained and aBsorbed with the range of IMBIBER BEADS® hydrophobic aBsorbent solutions.
Our products aBsorb (drink in) compatible organic chemical liquids into their solid structure and in so doing, swell. The IMBIBER BEADS® will not release the liquid, not through compression, gravitational pull, not even if cut in half.
All IMBIBER BEADS® products include our color change technology (IMBICATOR®) allowing the person deploying to easily see when the product is aBsorbing organic liquids.
IMBIBER BEADS® Hydrocarbon aBsorption Products
IMBIBER BEADS® Sand/Bead Blend is ideal for sealing ditch areas and preventing further penetration of hydrocarbons (oil, gasoline, diesel, brake fluid, transmission fluid) into soil. Additionally, this absorption product can be used to dike spills on hard surfaces and protect drains and sewers from becoming contaminated.

The IMBIBER BEADS® Hot Zone Spill Kit is designed to give HAZMAT First Responders all of the necessary hydrocarbon cleanup tools to quickly and effectively address road, rail, industrial, marine or pipeline spills. Our spill kits completely contain and immobilize fuel spills, drastically reduce toxic vapors and eliminate slippage hazards for workers.
IMBIBER BEADS® Imbicator® Blankets
IMBICATOR® Blankets are the largest specialty sorbent product sold by Imbibitive Technologies and are perfectly suited for the containment and capture of significant organic chemical spills. These imbibing blankets completely contain spills in fuelling areas, loading docks, storage facilities, separation ponds, oil water separators, road spills, train spills, pipeline spills and open water.
IMBIBER BEADS® Imbicator® Booms
IMBIBER BEADS® Booms are highly effective barriers for containing and immobilizing organic chemicals spills on water and land (specifically around fuelling areas). Unaffected by water (hydrophobic), the booms can be left dockside for immediate deployment.

Effectively contain and capture a wide range of organic liquids with IMBIBER BEADS® Mini Booms. These smaller containment/aBsorption booms are the perfect solution for addressing spills in sumps, drip pans, leaking industrial equipment and hoses, and small water or land spills.
IMBIBER BEADS® Imbicator® Packets
IMBICATOR® Packets are designed for capturing and containing (aBsorbing) small or incidental hydrocarbon leaks/spills. Ideal for removal of sheens from sumps or to be used in conjunction with and/or replace drip pans.
IMBIBER BEADS® Imbicator® Pillows
IMBICATOR® Pillows have been engineered to fully capture and contain hydrocarbon spills from slightly larger areas than our packets, reducing toxic vapor levels up to 600 times. Pillows are perfect for imbibing liquid spills from oil-water separators, manholes, roadway spill cleanup and sumps.
Unlike other technologies which are commonly used for open water spill response – such as dispersants and in situ burning – IMBIBER BEADS® has been proven by third party testing to be non-toxic and to present no risk to the environment or marine life.
Third party laboratory testing in two different locations have come back conclusive that IMBIBER BEADS® are non-toxic.
